Jessica’s Artistic Process

Today, Jessica likes to explore different mediums within art that allow her to experiment with scale, layers, and textures, such as oil on canvas, mixed media, screenprinting, and works on paper. Below are some live examples of her work and process behind the screens for her “paintings” - oil on canvas and “works on paper” screenprinting and mixed medium on paper.

Oil on Canvas

This process is the most time-consuming, yet it has so much more depth to the art process because of it. Jessica takes her time when working on this type of work to paint, observe, let the paint dry, and slowly cover the canvas with the right colors, motions, and gestures to tell a story through the finished work.

Screenprinting + Works on Paper

It is a fun process and a more intentional choice of colors for each layer and pattern that goes into the printing process. Jessica paints each layer, and each piece is different from the next. No two are alike. Each screen printed work is handmade and a unique piece of art.
